Wherefore art thou Romeo?

Some people have wondered about how Romeo is faring so far. We're trying to give him as much attention now since he might not get it later. He can sense something is different which is why he has been more clingy than usual.  He has been our baby for the last 3 years. Soon that is going to change. Now he would have to share his position as our "little boy".

"You look funny upside down"

"Just chillin"

"Hello, pay attention to me"

"Can I sit here?"

"I'm so cold and cozy"

"Yeah finally play time!"

"Resting with daddy, this is the life!"

"I like this extra head rest."

"Wait, who's kicking me?"

The Baby Room!

Yeah it's finished! We are so happy with how it came out. Jamie, a close friend, and sister from my hall, painted the mural for us. She did it without stencils or a pattern. She did it free hand just by looking at a picture on her phone. The only thing left is birds on the trees. She is going to paint yellow and blue birds later on. Some will be perched on the trees and others will be flying. It's going to make it even cuter!
So here is a play-by-play of how the room looked from the beginning until now. (Reminder: our house was under construction so it was pretty bare in the beginning which is why it took longer than expected to finish the room)

This is Andy sweeping the walls since there was construction dust all over.

Here I am putting the first coat of baby blue on the walls. (Andy did most of the painting, don't worry)

Grey and blue walls are finished

Trim and floors are done so we moved in.
Those boxes you see here are hand-me-down clothes from a sister from our hall that has a 3 year old boy and his baby clothes no longer fits him.  So we started off with lots of baby clothes.

We were also handed down this crib and changing table. Very nice and much appreciated.

The following pics is how the mural was painted step by step.

Another sister from my hall gifted us a rocking (glider) chair but it's in our bedroom since the baby will be there the first few months.

This baby mobile was hand made by both my grandma Ana and I.
It took us about 3 days to finish.

The picture on the wall of the birds is actually a puzzle that Andy and I did together.  We figured it goes with the room and Jeriah can look at it while we change his diapers.

Another sister from our hall hand made this for Jeriah.  It's a basket with a blue seal, yellow lion, purple hippo, brown walrus, and a penguin.  So talented!

The baby's closet, full of clothes of all sizes thanks to the friends.

Andy liked putting hooks for Jeriah's hats and coats.

I made these as decor to fit the bird theme.

I also made this.  Just felt crafty.

First Winter

This I our first real snow here in North Bend. These are pics of our backyard. About 3 inches of soft snow. Very beautiful here when it snows.

Then the sun came out. This is the back yard of a sisters house that we went to for hospitality.

BABY SHOWER II

This past Sunday, our small congregation in Washington gave us a baby shower.  We are so appreciative of all the love, food and gifts.  Even though we are far from our family and friends in Texas, we feel brotherly affection and warmth.  It's a home away from home.

Below are some of the "reusable" decor

This baby was stuffed with diapers

Table Centerpiece:
Washcloth, diaper, and baby sock as a hat

Here is the whole gang all together

Peas in a pod:
Washcloths

Cake with bow ties
Chocolate cake with raspberry filling
("Welcome Baby Jeriah")
NAME REVEAL: Jeriah Ben

Opening up gifts

The baby looks just like his dad!
