3 Months Old on March 17th
(13 Weeks going on 14 this Wednesday) - so complicated!
Jeriah is getting big (and heavy) and long. He is about 16lbs and 24" long. A BIG boy indeed. We are surprised on how fast he is growing. He is getting stronger each day, standing firmer on our laps. He has a good grip now and likes to pull on mommy's hair. He smiles a lot more and is getting more vocal. We love hearing his coos, and gagas. He likes to have conversations with us even though we do not understand each other. When Grandma (Yolander) was visiting, she help teach him to sit up when we pull his little arms towards us. He now wants to try to do it on his own.
He is getting better with taking naps in his crib during the day, when we put him down. This in turn helps him go to sleep better a night in his crib. He still wakes for a 2 or 3 AM feeding then at 6 AM. We're getting there! This week he spent a few nights in the nursery and not in mom & dad's room. It was exciting but still mama could not sleep because she couldn't stop looking at the video monitor to make sure he was okay. We have started a sleep routine that consists of reading a chapter of the bible (in English) and then a bible story from My Book of Bible Stories (in Spanish) as a family before we put Jeriah to bed. It helps set a good habit for us to read the bible daily AND Jeriah has an indication that it's time for bed.
On a side note, Andy and I are noticing how much our lives are centered around this baby boy. We love him so much and yet we never imagined how different and upside down our daily routine will be. We are trying to get a hang of going to the meetings and back out in service, on time. We had a feeding timeline and it's changed a few times until we found one that fits our spiritual schedule. This consists of waking up at 6AM then breastfeeding him every 3 hours, (ie... 6AM, 9AM, 12PM, 3PM, 6PM, 9PM or 10:30PM, and 3AM) Then his naps are about 30mins to an hour long after being awake an hour or so after a feeding. It has been some getting use to but with Jehovah's help, we keep at it as best we can.
Below are pics of the "Cutest baby ever!"
